Our Youth League team closed the 2025 calendar year with a defeat, as FC Argeș secured all three points in Csíkszereda after playing almost the entire match with a man advantage.
In Wednesday’s midweek round, the final league match of 2025, FC Argeș visited the Burus Csaba Sportpark. We made things difficult for ourselves early, in the 9th minute, when Kárándi went into a challenge against Stancu with his foot raised too high; although he reached the ball first, he also struck the opponent’s head area and was immediately sent off. The visitors converted their man advantage already in the 17th minute, but in spite of the numerical disadvantage we revived our hopes in the 26th minute when Juhos headed home from close range after a corner: 1–1. Luck was also with us when, following Rónai’s unnecessary foul inside the box, Manole sent the awarded penalty well over the bar in the 58th minute. However, five minutes later Antonucci had no chance when Dinu fired an excellent, very accurate shot from about 25 metres, the ball nestling into the left side of the net: 1–2. In the 79th minute Nyitra had the equaliser at his feet, but Crăciun saved with his legs. Ten minutes before the end, after a quick combination play, Niță shot past Antonucci’s supporting foot and sealed the match: 1–3.
Our Youth League team will not enter the winter break just yet, as two important Cup fixtures await the boys over the next two weekends.
