Our U15 Elite League team suffered a 2–0 home defeat against Politehnica Iași. After the match, head coach Fogarasi Zoltán shared his thoughts on the team’s performance.
The coach said it was a balanced and hard-fought game against a quality opponent. – “We faced a strong, physically solid team with skilled players in every position. Despite that, we held our own, showed bravery in duels, and managed to create chances from several areas of the pitch,” said Fogarasi Zoltán.
He added that finishing was not effective this time, and the visitors capitalized on two positioning errors. – “I’m sorry we couldn’t convert our chances. The opponents defended very well, were extremely organized, and allowed us little space, which made it hard to get close to their goal. We conceded two goals from positioning mistakes and quickly found ourselves two behind,” explained the head coach.
In the second half, the team fought hard to get back into the game. – “The substitutes brought fresh energy, and we created promising chances again, but couldn’t take them. Still, credit to Politehnica – they deserved to win, while we can still hold our heads high,” he said.
To conclude, Fogarasi Zoltán emphasized the players’ exemplary attitude and the match’s importance for their development. – “The boys showed that they can play organized and courageous football even when behind. We must improve our finishing, but these matches are essential for their growth – both technically and mentally,” concluded Fogarasi Zoltán.
