Our U15 Elite League team suffered a home defeat against LPS Buzău. Although the match played at the Burus Csaba Sportpark was dominated by our side, the visitors relied on counterattacks and defensive errors, scoring three times to claim 3–1 win. After the match, head coach Fogarasi Zoltán shared his assessment.
The coach stressed that the game reflected all the peculiarities of youth football. “We controlled the game from start to finish, created many chances, but were not efficient in front of goal. Our opponents played direct football – they had only one corner and no real chances – but this approach paid off, especially with the second and third goals, where we gave them far too much help,” said Fogarasi Zoltán.
He explained that mistakes are part of the learning process, from which the players must take lessons. – “This age group is just starting to spread its wings, but it is clear that the boys take football very seriously. They are developing well, they dare to take initiative, which naturally comes with the risk of errors. We have talented players, but at this age performances are very inconsistent, so it’s hard to expect the same level every match,” the coach pointed out.
He added that he hopes the squad can fully recover from the recent wave of illness and return to proper training next week. – “We will analyse the match, but we already know what we must improve on to make our dominance show in the scoreline and to avoid defensive mistakes like today. We must look forward, because the previous eight matches have shown that this team has character and can perform much better,” concluded Fogarasi Zoltán.
