Politehnica Timișoara did not pose an insurmountable obstacle for our Women’s Superliga side: our players built a two-goal lead in the first half and added another after the break to make the victory secure. Péter Kollár’s team claimed a 3–0 home win.

In Matchday 5, Politehnica Timișoara visited the Burus Csaba Sports Park. Our team looked to take the initiative from the outset and opened the scoring in the 24th minute. Annabelle Nombot broke into the penalty area, where she was brought down illegally. Andrea Herczeg confidently converted the resulting penalty to make it 1–0.

Our advantage increased towards the end of the first half. In the 42nd minute, Andrea Herczeg delivered a corner from the right and Csilla Balázs arrived at the far post, with the ball ending up in the net from close range. The official match report, however, recorded the goal as an own goal by Claudia Bistrian, meaning FK went into the break with a 2–0 lead.

In the 53rd minute, Annabelle Nombot provided the assist and Aranka Orbán finished the chance to score our third goal of the match.

Péter Kollár then made several changes: Panna Zán-Fábián and Dorina Tănase came on in the 60th minute, while Anita Antal and Flóra Katona entered the field in the 69th. The visitors were unable to create any serious danger in front of Bettina Böröcz’s goal, and the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.

After the final whistle, head coach Péter Kollár highlighted above all that his team had carried out exactly what had been planned before the match and maintained the required level of concentration throughout.

– The players executed what we had planned extremely well and produced a commanding performance. We functioned very well both as a team and individually, remaining focused and compact throughout the match. We really wanted to win so that we could prepare properly for our next important match, both in terms of our game and our confidence. We achieved that today, and next week we will work to maintain this level and, if possible, build on it further. All credit goes to the girls; it was a great performance today – the head coach said.
