Our Elite League teams showed mixed performances in the weekend round: the U16s drew, while the U15s suffered a defeat against LPS Buzău.
In the matches played at the Burus Csaba Sports Park, our opponents consistently built their game on counterattacks and exploiting our defensive mistakes, which proved effective in both encounters.
The U16s dominated the first half, creating several scoring chances, but the goals only came in the second period. The visitors took the lead on a counter, but we quickly equalized, then Bíró’s brace gave us the advantage. Shortly after, LPS equalized again and regained the lead from a penalty. In the closing minutes, Szabó Örs’s header sealed the final 3–3 result.
In the U15 game, the pattern was similar: we dominated possession and pressed our opponents deep, yet they scored first. Although we equalized quickly, in the second half we conceded two more goals and couldn’t recover, so the visitors won 3–1.
