This weekend, Brașov hosted the first round of the U13 Women’s National Championship, where our team, FK Csíkszereda, played two matches.

Our opponents were Vasas Femina and Sepsi OSK. In the first match, against Vasas Femina, we suffered a 4–0 defeat. As it was our first official game since taking over the team, the girls were still adapting to each other on the pitch, and some uncertainty was noticeable – reported head  coach Portik Helga. As the match progressed, we gradually found our rhythm and began to implement our own ideas more confidently. We created several chances, but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert them into goals. In the second match, against Sepsi OSK, we stepped onto the field much more focused and determined. From the very start, it was clear that the girls believed more in themselves, and our game became more organized. We managed to create several opportunities and, after a beautiful attacking play, scored the winning goal, finishing the match 1–0. Although we were missing some players, this gave everyone the chance to get more playing time, and we were able to keep the team fresh through constant substitutions. “Overall, I’m satisfied with the girls’ attitude; the progress is visible, and we’re moving in a very encouraging direction,” said Portik Helga.

Szőcs Renáta added: “This was our first official match together, and although the first game showed a lack of cohesion, the team displayed a completely different face in the second one. We played with fight, discipline, and confidence – the girls deserve praise for that. From here, we want to keep building.”
