In recent days, several press reports and public statements have appeared regarding the failed transfer of Anderson Ceará, as well as the health condition of our player. FK Csíkszereda considers it important to present its own position on the situation that has developed, while respecting the player’s interests, as well as the professional and medical aspects involved.
On behalf of our club, president Szondy Zoltán expressed his position regarding the circumstances of the negotiation process, as well as the way the case was handled publicly.
Szondy Zoltán, president of FK Csíkszereda:
“Regarding Anderson Ceará’s transfer, FK Csíkszereda raises several concerns. Our first concern is that, after FCSB made a written offer for Anderson, the negotiation process that began at that point was made extremely disturbing and incoherent by two elements. The first is that whatever we were negotiating appeared in the press, in a completely distorted form, just minutes later. The second is that, before the two clubs had agreed on anything, they reached an agreement with the player’s agent, making it more difficult for us to negotiate offers from other clubs as well, since the player’s agent favoured FCSB’s offer.
This is the first part of the story, about which, looking back, one can at least say that it was not an elegant procedure on the part of the Bucharest club. The second aspect of the matter is the player’s alleged inability to play, in connection with which we would like to note, beyond the medical facts, that we also found out from the press that FCSB had given up on the player for medical reasons. This once again shows a complete lack of elegance and good sense.
And presenting a healthy player as injured in front of the whole world makes that player’s further career very difficult. Obviously, FCSB did not think about this, but at least afterwards we expect an apology from them for these — I emphasise once again — completely inelegant manoeuvres, which we are not used to and do not want to get used to.”
Dr Hegyessy Loránd, FK Csíkszereda’s club doctor, summarised the professional position regarding the player’s health condition.
Dr Hegyessy Loránd, FK Csíkszereda’s club doctor:
“In recent days it became public that FCSB did not wish to sign our player Anderson Ceará based on the results of the medical examinations, referring primarily to findings related to his knee. In connection with the situation that has developed, as the club doctor, I consider it important to shed light on the issue from a professional point of view as well.
We have continuously monitored the player’s health condition, through regular checks and load monitoring. He has not suffered a serious knee injury that would have resulted in a long absence, surgical intervention or a significant drop in performance. On the contrary: with that same knee, he performed at a consistently high level and, through his performances, became one of the best players in the second division.
It is important to emphasise that, from a professional point of view, I would not necessarily call the currently mentioned condition an injury. Rather, we can speak of a chronic-type change that developed over a longer period of time, and whose assessment and management may differ from club to club and from one medical staff to another. Findings of this kind, in themselves, do not mean that an athlete is unable to play football at a high level.
It is also worth recalling that it was precisely with this knee that he produced performances which attracted the interest of other clubs and earned the recognition and affection of the supporters. His performances on the pitch are clear proof that we are speaking about a competitive and valuable player.
Of course, every club has the right to make a decision on a possible transfer based on its own risk assessment. At the same time, based on the data available to us, the player’s load capacity and the performances he has shown in the recent period, we are convinced that he remains fit to play.
I would like to reassure the supporters: in his current condition, the player is capable of playing, and he can train and compete regularly. We will continue to monitor his health condition and provide all the necessary professional support so that he can continue his career at the highest possible level.”
Anderson Ceará will return from Bucharest to Csíkszereda on Sunday, 21 June, and will join our squad, which began its summer preparations this week.
