Női Szuperliga | Elszenvedtük első idénybeli vereségünket a Besztercei Gloria otthonában

We started the match well in Bistrița, but the hosts managed to take a two-goal lead before the break. In the second half we fought back and reduced the deficit, but eventually suffered a 3–2 defeat, ending our unbeaten run in the 5th round of the Women’s Superliga.

From the very first minutes we put strong pressure on the home defense and created several chances, but we couldn’t convert them. Towards the end of the first half our game dropped, and Gloria took advantage: in the 40th minute Colibaba opened the scoring (1–0), and just five minutes later Kara Jouli Rania doubled the lead from a free kick (2–0).

After the break things didn’t improve for us, as in the 55th minute Kara Jouli scored again to make it 3–0. We didn’t give up and tried to get back into the match through counterattacks. In the 75th minute Mitri Rita scored with a powerful long-range effort (3–1). Eight minutes later, a free kick from Andrea Herczeg hit the crossbar, and Jehona Shala converted the rebound, scoring for the second consecutive match in red and black (3–2). In stoppage time we had another chance through Annabelle Nombot, but her goal was disallowed for a foul on the goalkeeper.

After the match, our head coach Szilvia Szeitl expressed her disappointment: – It is very difficult to play when you give such an advantage to the opponent and concede three goals practically out of nothing… It looks like today we didn’t deserve more, and that must be said – stated our coach, adding that everyone has to reflect on their own performance.

Szeitl also pointed out that the same problem has been persisting for weeks: everything works in training, but not in matches. – Until we change this, it will continue the same way. I think everyone has to think carefully about whatthey contributed to today’s game – she concluded.
