U12, U14 lányok | Két tornagyőzelem Egerben

Our girls’ teams ended their participation in Eger with tournament victories in two age groups: both the U12 and U14 sides of FK Csíkszereda finished first at the JP Autó – Suzuki Cup, the international youth tournament organised by Egri Focisuli.

The players coached by Portik Helga and Szőcs Renáta played in a 4+1 format, which is less familiar to them, so the tournament offered a good opportunity to practise playing in small spaces, making quick decisions and handling intense match situations. Seven teams took part in the U14 age group, while the U12 field included six teams, and in both categories the young footballers of FK Csíkszereda proved to be the best.

The U14 team finished the group stage unbeaten: with five wins and one draw, and a goal difference of 20–3, they ended in first place, before claiming a confident 7–1 victory over Astra HFC-Gyömrő in the final. Benő Emőke became the top scorer of the age group.

Our U14 results:
Eger SE – FK Csíkszereda 0–1
Hevesi LSC – FK Csíkszereda 0–4
Astra HFC-Gyömrő – FK Csíkszereda 1–1
FK Csíkszereda – Tiszai SC 3–0
FK Csíkszereda – Hidegkúti SC 6–2
Csepel FC – FK Csíkszereda 0–5
Final: FK Csíkszereda – Astra HFC-Gyömrő 7–1

The U12 team also won their tournament unbeaten. In the group stage they recorded four wins and one draw, before defeating Csepel FC 3–0 in the final. In this age group, Csató Ágnes was named the best player of the tournament.

Our U12 results:
Eger SE red – FK Csíkszereda 0–12
Astra HFC-Gyömrő – FK Csíkszereda 0–3
Csepel FC – FK Csíkszereda 1–1
Tiszai SE – FK Csíkszereda 0–3
FK Csíkszereda – Eger SE white 5–0
Final: FK Csíkszereda – Csepel FC 3–0

According to coach Portik Helga, the tournament was useful for the girls both professionally and as a community experience.

“We took part in a football tournament in Eger with the U12 and U14 girls, something we had been planning for a long time. We played in a 4+1 format, which was unusual for us. It was good that we could practise playing in small spaces, because decisions had to be made much more quickly this way, many chances were created, and the game was very intense,” said Portik Helga.

Our coach highlighted that the teams played good matches, faced several tougher opponents as well, and in the finals they played with determination throughout.

“In the finals, the girls were very confident. Not for a minute did they want to let the advantage slip from their hands, and they even tried to make the most of many of their chances. They played excellently, I am very proud of them!” she added.

The tournament was not only about the matches: the organisers held a high-quality event for several age groups, and the participants could also try different football games at the venue. After the matches, the girls also relaxed at the Eger swimming pool.

“Overall, we took part in a very good football tournament. The girls had a great time. We thank the organisers for the opportunity!” Portik Helga concluded.
