According to head coach Fogarasi Zoltán, who reported on the match for our website, the team played an exciting and high-quality encounter against Puskás Akadémia. “We dominated the entire first half and created many chances; despite this, the home team took the lead from a penalty. The second half was more balanced, the home side pushed hard to score a second goal – and they succeeded. We again missed big opportunities, so from our point of view the final score is not very realistic; there was much more in this match for us. Of course, I am proud of the boys, because they managed to create so many chances and show such dominance against a very strong team – something that, to be honest, even I would not have expected beforehand. The match was a perfect way to close the season: in just six months we have played 29 matches, during which the boys improved tremendously, and they managed to show this even against a strong side like Puskás Akadémia. I would also like to thank Puskás Akadémia for the opportunity to play against their age group, and we are grateful that we could witness yet another qualification of theirs in the UEFA Youth League – we wish them all the best going forward,” he said.
Following their match against the Puskás U15 team, our academy players attended the UEFA Youth League match between Puskás Akadémia and FCSB at the Pancho Aréna, where the home team advanced to the main stage of the competition after winning a penalty shootout against the Romanian champions.
