Ifiliga U18 | Sok helyzetből két gól, biztos FK-győzelem

Our U18 team claimed a two-goal victory in the opening round of the Youth League regular season at home against Petrolul Ploiești, though the margin could have been much wider.

Goran Kopunović’s side took the lead in the 34th minute when, after a free kick from the left side, the visitors initially cleared the ball, but it fell to Nyitra, whose shot from about 22 metres took a deflection, leaving Ploiești’s goalkeeper, Rădulescu, with no chance. The second goal came in the 54th minute, when the referee awarded us a penalty, confidently converted by Tóth-Pál Előd to make it 2–0.

No more goals were scored, though there were plenty of clear chances. For instance, in the 66th minute, Noveli made a brilliant solo run but narrowly missed the target, and even in stoppage time Iosif had a golden opportunity, but could not finish Noveli’s unselfish pass.
