Mitra Szilárd’s U17 side took a two-goal lead against Viitorul Cluj in Sunday’s cup match but eventually suffered defeat. The head coach shared his thoughts after the game:
“We faced an aggressive opponent who relied heavily on long balls, but we managed to impose our style of play. We controlled the match and, after a strong first half, we were leading 2–0. We also had three more big chances – two from set pieces and one from open play.
In the second half, we thought the game was already won, and we paid the price for that mindset. We were not focused until the final whistle, we missed important chances, and we made mistakes at the back – both the defensive line and the goalkeeper.
The positive aspect is that we scored two goals and created many opportunities, but we need to play much more physically and with greater determination, because at the moment we are too soft.”
