Six of our players could represent FK Csíkszereda during the October women’s international break: Herczeg Andrea has been called up to Romania’s senior national team and Antria Efstratiou to Cyprus’s senior side, while Heim Sára, Nombot Annabelle and Fülöp Boglárka have been included in Romania’s U19 squad, and Zvenyák Johanna in the U17 squad. Our players will be involved in a World Cup qualifying play-off, European Championship qualifying tournaments and a training camp.

Herczeg Andrea, captain of our Women’s Superliga team, is among the 23 players selected by national team head coach Massimo Pedrazzini. Romania’s senior side will face Norway in the first round of the European qualifying play-offs for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. The first leg will take place at Bucharest’s Arcul de Triumf Stadium on Friday, 9 October, at 20:00, with the return leg scheduled for Tuesday, 13 October, at 19:00 at Oslo’s Ullevaal Stadium.

Romania won qualifying Group C5 with ten points, finishing ahead of Moldova and Cyprus. The winners of the tie against Norway will face the winners of Albania versus Wales in the next round.

Antria Efstratiou has been called up to Cyprus’s senior national team. The 24-player squad, led by Savvas Sofokleous, will assemble on Tuesday, 6 October. Training sessions will take place at the community stadium in Pyrgos from 6 to 8 October, followed by a training camp in Ayia Napa from 9 to 12 October. The programme published by the Cyprus Football Association includes no matches during this period; the national team is preparing for its upcoming fixtures and will learn its opponents for the 2027 Nations League at the draw on 3 November.

Three of our players, Heim Sára, Nombot Annabelle and Fülöp Boglárka, have been called up to Romania’s U19 national team by head coach Constantin Olariu. As part of their programme from 3 to 13 October, the team will travel to Malta for the first round of European Championship qualifying, competing in League B Group 6.

Romania’s youngsters will face Kazakhstan on Tuesday, 6 October, at 12:00 and hosts Malta on Friday, 9 October, at 15:30 at the Ta’ Qali Centenary Stadium in Attard. Their third match, against Czechia, will take place on Monday, 12 October, at 13:30, also in Attard, at the Ta’ Qali National Football Centre. The League B group winners and the best runners-up will be promoted to League A, where they can compete in the spring for a place at the 2027 European Championship in Hungary.

Zvenyák Johanna could feature in Scotland with Romania’s U17 national team, led by Ionuț Florea. In the first round of European Championship qualifying, the team will face the hosts, Finland and Ukraine in League A Group 6.

Their opening match against Scotland will take place on Wednesday, 7 October, at 17:30 at Broadwood Stadium. They will then face Finland on Saturday, 10 October, at 13:00 and Ukraine on Tuesday, 13 October, at 15:00, with both matches being played at Albert Bartlett Stadium. The top three teams in the group will remain in League A for the second qualifying round, where places at the European Championship will be at stake, while the fourth-placed team will be relegated to League B.

Match kick-off times are listed as published in the FRF’s programme. We wish our players every success with their national teams!
