FK Csíkszereda lost its final preparatory match in the Austrian training camp, as MTK Budapest secured a two-goal victory thanks to Jurina’s brace against Ilyés Róbert’s side.
The match was held at the Barkóc stadium in the Mura region, Slovenia, after FK’s game against Ukrainian side Polissya Zhatomir was canceled a day earlier, and UTA Arad also could not play against MTK.
Once again, the boys were greeted by scorching heat over thirty degrees and blazing sunshine, though this alone does not explain the poor start. In the 4th minute, Csenterics had to save Babati’s free kick to a corner, but then came MTK’s minutes, with Jurina in the spotlight. The blue-and-whites’ striker first scored with a close-range header from a left-side cross in the 11th minute, then three minutes later he doubled the lead. To make matters worse, a minute later Törőcsik finished off a fine move with a shot from 11 meters into the bottom right corner, making it 3–0 in just five minutes.
In the 19th minute Simon had to pull off another brilliant save to keep the Budapest side from extending their lead further, but then FK started to get into the game as well, with Anderson and Bloj trying long shots, and two minutes before the break Dolný failed to convert a clear-cut chance from Szabó’s pass.
At the very beginning of the second half, Jurina even hit the post, followed by a long-range effort from Szalay in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute Veres earned a penalty, which Dolný converted (3–1). In the 68th minute our striker could have reduced the deficit further, and on the other end MTK also hit the post for a third time, but the scoreline remained unchanged.
